I would like to know about updating the software.
The procedure is to go to https://www.keyshot.com/resources/downloads/ then download the installer and the software will update AND all my files will remain?
I am concerned about overriding the existing projects I have and losing the data.

I downloaded the full installer and all my files remained. But… I take backups very seriously so my files will be there anyway 
My projects are not in the Documents/KeyShot 12 folder besides some test things but they are still there. I think the installer just overwrites the ‘older’ materials. But please, with or without KeyShot, backup enough, a shame if you loose years of work by a damaged drive or ransomware etc.
Does the new version have an option to downgrade the software version to work with my previous Keyshot documents？
I don’t think so, think it was never that way. Would been nice if it has an option to save as older KS file. What I created with the 2023.1 beta I couldn’t open in KS11.
I did the same (regarding backups) and it seems like everything is OK.
